I am a Filipino Web developer, and I have been for 4 years now.
Most of my projects are built using Typescript, NodeJS, React, and Angular. I build RESTful APIs, automation scripts, web scrapers, and websites. I have more experience building the functionalities of a system. Web design (looks and layouts of a website) is not my forte, but I know enough CSS, Tailwind, and Bootstrap to make a website looks good and professional.
I know that there are a lot of developers that can do much better than me. But I don’t compare myself to them. Instead, I learn from those who are better and add some of my own unique ways to reach a goal. I love to learn by trying, failing, and trying again. I think the best way to know if a cup of coffee tasted good is by drinking it while it’s hot and getting your tongue burnt.
What are your tech stacks?
I mostly do my web application with MERN and MEAN stack. But I also do PHP frameworks (like Laravel) and RDBMS (like MySQL and PostgreSQL).
What software or tools do you use for development?**
I’m using WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) with Ubuntu as OS and VS Code as my code editor. I also use Postman for API documentation and testing.
Do you know what unit testing is?
Yes. Recently, I learn how to use Jest, Mocha, and Chai.
Do you know how to use Git?
Of course! I manage my Portfolio and this website’s repository using Git and services like GitHub and GitLab.
Are you a degree holder?
No. I took a BS in Computer Science for a year but dropped out due to health issues. But it didn’t stop me from pursuing my passion, which is problem-solving using the art of codes and computer programming.
Are you comfortable with the office/on-site setup?
No. I only do remote/work-from-home jobs — in the comfort of my room. I’m not physically fit for an on-site job setup.
Do you accept freelance/project-based jobs?
I prefer a full-time job. But yes, I also do the freelance job.
Do you love coffee?
Absolutely! Black coffee is my blood.
Do you love cats or dogs?
Cats, of course. My cat’s name is Cream. She’s so pretty and cute.
